THE PLAYER
ISSUE 001 — WELCOME TO DONT KEEP POINTS
Everybody wants to win.
Very few people think about who they're becoming while they chase the win.
That's the difference.
Most people are obsessed with outcomes.
The DKP philosophy is obsessed with development.
Because one day the game ends.
The season ends.
The job changes.
The trophy collects dust.
The scoreboard resets.
And when it does, only one thing remains:
The player.
THE PLAYER IS THE INVESTMENT
People spend years chasing money.
Years chasing status.
Years chasing recognition.
But the greatest investment you'll ever make is in yourself.
Not because you're guaranteed to win.
But because no matter what happens, you keep the player.
You can lose money.
You can lose followers.
You can lose opportunities.
You can lose games.
You can lose championships.
But if you've built the player, you never start from zero.
Because the player carries the lessons.
The discipline.
The experience.
The character.
The resilience.
The mindset.
The player is the asset.
Everything else is temporary.
WHAT MAKES A PLAYER?
A player isn't defined by talent.
A player isn't defined by results.
A player is defined by habits.
What do you do when nobody is watching?
What do you do when nobody is clapping?
What do you do when the scoreboard isn't moving?
That's where the player is built.
Not on game day.
Not on social media.
Not when things are easy.
In the ordinary moments.
The invisible moments.
The moments that never make the highlight reel.
DISCIPLINE OVER MOTIVATION
Motivation is emotional.
Discipline is a decision.
Motivation shows up when it feels good.
Discipline shows up regardless.
Motivation is temporary.
Discipline compounds.
The player understands this.
The player doesn't wait to feel inspired.
The player understands that consistency creates confidence.
Every day you keep a promise to yourself, you build trust.
Every workout.
Every study session.
Every practice.
Every difficult conversation.
Every act of discipline.
You are teaching yourself who you are.
PROGRESS OVER PERFECTION
Perfection is a trap.
Perfection convinces people not to start.
Not to post.
Not to create.
Not to try.
Not to fail.
Progress is different.
Progress understands that growth is messy.
Progress understands that mistakes are part of the process.
Progress understands that becoming takes time.
The player doesn't need perfection.
The player needs repetition.
Because repetition creates mastery.
CHARACTER OVER RECOGNITION
Recognition is public.
Character is private.
Recognition is what people think about you.
Character is who you actually are.
Recognition comes and goes.
Character stays.
Anybody can look successful.
Anybody can look confident.
Anybody can look disciplined.
The player isn't focused on appearances.
The player is focused on becoming.
Because eventually who you are always reveals itself.
GROWTH OVER COMFORT
Comfort feels safe.
Growth feels uncomfortable.
That's why so many people stay where they are.
Not because they lack potential.
Because growth requires discomfort.
Growth requires uncertainty.
Growth requires failure.
Growth requires humility.
The player understands that discomfort is often proof of progress.
If you're uncomfortable, you're probably growing.
If you're growing, you're moving.
If you're moving, you're becoming.
CONSISTENCY OVER INTENSITY
Anybody can have one great day.
Anybody can have one great week.
The player focuses on years.
The player understands that small actions repeated consistently beat massive effort applied occasionally.
A single workout won't change your life.
Thousands will.
A single book won't change your life.
Hundreds of hours of learning might.
A single conversation won't change your life.
Years of intentional relationships could.
The player wins through consistency.
WHO ARE YOU BECOMING?
That's the question.
Not:
How much money are you making?
Not:
How many followers do you have?
Not:
What position do you hold?
Not:
What does the scoreboard say?
The real question is:
Who are you becoming?
Are you becoming more disciplined?
More resilient?
More confident?
More patient?
More trustworthy?
More capable?
Because if the answer is yes, you're winning.
Even when the scoreboard says otherwise.
THE PLAYER CHANGES THE SCOREBOARD
Most people think success creates confidence.
The truth is confidence creates success.
Most people think outcomes create belief.
The truth is belief creates outcomes.
Most people focus on the scoreboard.
The DKP philosophy focuses on the player.
Because the player changes the game.
And the game changes the scoreboard.
Not the other way around.
REMEMBER
The scoreboard is temporary.
The game is forever.
The player remains.
Invest in the player.
Trust the process.
Enjoy the game.
